Environmental behavior & transformation processes

In the research field Environmental Behavior & Transformation Processes, we apply different interdisciplinary approaches to investigate which factors affect environmental behavior and how sustainable transformations can be promoted in various sectors. Projects such as EC2, CLP and CarbonNeutralLNG employ different approaches to promote sustainable environmental behavior and shape transformation processes. EC² focuses on the attitudes of energy consumers in the context of a sustainable energy transition and examines how citizens can actively participate in the energy transition. The CLP project combines law and psychology to better understand consumers' (contract)decisions, especially in the context of energy-saving behavior (e.g. switching to green energy). Empirical studies investigate how legal rules must be designed to support consumers more effectively in their decisions. CarbonNeutralLNG aims to transform the transport sector through the electricity-assisted conversion of biomass into carbon-neutral LNG and also relies on the social psychological analysis of the acceptance of this new energy source.
